On one hand, my background in the disability sector made me meticulous about getting the details right. On the other, my lived experience as a neurodivergent woman and a mom to a disabled child means I have a built-in radar for what’s authentic and what isn't.

How Disability Writer started in September 2022

For years, I poured everything into helping our one-in-a-million Lara guide dog school survive and thrive.

Then, in May 2021, my son was diagnosed with epilepsy, and my world shifted. Suddenly, I had to rethink everything: balancing soaring medical bills, preserving my mental health, and holding on to the life I loved.

Starting my own business was a leap of faith. I felt a bit wobbly, anxious, but full of hope.

I didn’t know what being a content writer truly meant, but I knew I could write.

I began guest posting for guide dog schools and nonprofits, but I never imagined people would actually pay me. But those first gigs led to clients, and soon my business took off.

Today, I work with content-writing clients in the US, Canada, and the UK who share my values and beliefs in creating a more disability-inclusive world. Now, I want to help you stand out with delightful content that illuminates disability awareness, accessibility, and inclusion.
